Summer Is On

It is certainly summer! Ready (almost) to stop baking in the house but had a serious craving for my favourite cookies...
Blend 1/2 C yogurt, 1/2 C softened butter, 1 1/2 C flour, 1/4 tsp salt in a bowl, cover and leave at room temp for 12 -24 hours. Add 2/3 cup rapadura, 1/3 C raisins, 1/3 cup cacao nibs, 1/3 chopped walnuts or almonds, bake cookies at 350 for 20 mins. Too good I think.
Babes is eating occasionally, tonight I pureed the sweet potato, carrot & lambs quarters from our soup for him, he loved it. He gets mad when I stop feeding him.... need to find a highchair, don't want to buy a new big ugly plastic thing...

A friend's 7th birthday party was a good time for the kids and adults. The magician was awesome! Good food, good people, music & laughs in the woods,

Papa & friend, baby & baby friend...
A children's festival, we made sock horses & raced, listened to a storyteller, watched a puppet show, live music throughout the day, wove cedar stars with a wise crone, ate bannock, marched the samba beats, mostly sat in a shady tipi with the baby.... all of this surrounded by friends and majestic mountain scenery. We then went home and set up out new 3 person shady swing, dove in the river, heaven!
And we got a lot done this weekend. Clean up and gardening mostly... plus beach time, mowing, fencing (still!), rearranging the chicken area and planning our deck...
Some fresh haircuts, (eating apples...)
